changing the way we play baggo

Since Sarah and Matt have become avid baggo players, Adam and I gave them a special combination scorekeeper and cup holder for Christmas last year. They broke it in on Saturday at their summer cookout. The first game started at about 5:30 and baggo went on for at least 6 hours. We didn't have very high expectations for the scorekeeper, as we had decided back in December that a cheaper, flimsier scorekeeper was more fitting for yard games and beer. The one we picked out is made with corrugated plastic and looks as if it would lean dramatically with the addition of a can of beer in the holder.

Alas, it was a hit and worked like a charm. The baggo games were ever more intense as people's hands were freed of their beverages and their minds freed of remembering the score.

Here, you see its proper use by Matt and Todd:

We have to assume that Adam missed this one, what with the beer tying up his left hand:

And this was just plain resourceful when the scorecard was held up at the other end of the court. Strollers have cup holders too. (The baby was sleeping soundly in the house.)
